CLI Quick Install (Single Command)

Download and install the latest release in one terminal line:

The script fetches the version number and the SHA-256 digests from GitHub Releases while it runs, compares them against SHA256SUMS.txt, and stops the installation if anything does not match.

Windows and macOS packages are not released yet, for the reasons set out below.

Windows

Windows 10 64-bit and later

Unsigned preview — published

These files are not signed. Windows SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC" and you must click "More info" → "Run anyway" to run the installer. This is expected and it does not mean the file is malware. Verify the SHA-256 digest against SHA256SUMS.txt before running it. This is a pre-release: not a stable release, and latest does not point at it. Why unsigned: the release pipeline treats an unsigned desktop release as a failure, so there is no certificate to sign with yet. An application to the SignPath Foundation has not yet been submitted. When signing is available, subsequent Windows releases will be signed and this warning will be removed.

NSIS installer (.exe), MSI package and portable EXE — all unsigned.

Awaiting Official Code-Signed Build

Apple Gatekeeper and notarized code-signing certification is currently in progress. macOS installers are temporarily suspended until the signed release is ready.

Installation in 4 Steps

  1. Download the APK file

    Pick the right package for your device: Universal or ARM64 APK for most phones.

  2. Verify digest and signature

    SHA-256 verifies file integrity; Sigstore signature verifies the release workflow.

  3. Grant unknown sources permission only during install

    After verification succeeds, grant this permission solely for the downloaded APK.

  4. Create or restore your vault

    Install the verified APK, then create or restore your vault.

Every release ships with SHA256SUMS.txt + PGP/.sig signatures. Compare digests before installing.
